The early 1800s large cent is some sort of Holy Grail for me. I've seen it offered only ONCE here, it was priced at $150, completely black, the date was impossible to read from the photos, supposedly being 1803. Eaglefoot, the pictures aren't that bad, since I've noticed these lovely coins are perfectly what I was searching for. I think I'll even save the pictures as an example.

No, they're not too bad..... and I agree with that. But, for my own salivating purposes, I wanted a "really good close-up" shot that showed them with the best possible clarity !...

What about the halves? lol And I can possibly sell these when I figure out more about all this stuff and get 50 posts. But I'm not 100% sure about everything left. I also got about 3000 records for free if anyone knows anything about them and can help.

Many people here can help you grade the coins properly and check them for any varieties which might increase their price. Therefore, a correct value of each and every coin can be determined. I'd say that most of the pictures are good enough for a rough grading of the cents, although some confusion might arise in determining which obverse goes with which reverse.. you know what I mean?

Each of them are in order First two obverse are next to eachother and the reverse is in the exact order just flipped.

That 1851 large cent is just in immaculate shape. You have some very very nice coins there. And welcome to the forum.

Quote: Each of them are in order First two obverse are next to eachother and the reverse is in the exact order just flipped. Ah yes, I see the pattern now. Also they are sorted by type, what helps. Quote: That 1851 large cent is just in immaculate shape But it does seem to have a lighter color on the highest devices of the obverse.. or maybe it's a photo effect.

It is most likely just the way the the light is hitting the coin but in this case it creates a very eye popping effect.
