Hey y'all I have a 1937 Canadian dollar bill in excellent condition, I think it's uncirculated, as it's in cases in thick plastic. I've been trying to find information on it but for some I can't find any with the same prefix as mine, which is KN. The signatures are James E Coyne and graham f towers. If anyone could help me find some information that would be great thank you

Nice note, not rare
K/N had a full run of ten million
Coyne-Towers notes were produced after 1950
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

So what does it mean if it's a certified 1937 Coyne-towers one if they only started making them in 1950?

The 1937 issue started with the reign of George VI and continued until his death and the ascension of Queen Elizabeth to the throne. New Banknotes designs were issued in 1954. throughout George VI the same desin was used
What the dates DBM refers to are when Coyne was the Deputy governor of the Bank of Canada and Towers was the governor of the bank.

Re: the signatures & 1937 $1.00 notes printed* (approximate figures provided by GPM31 by Charlton):
50,000,000 banknotes were printed with Osborne/Towers signatures;
472,840,000 banknotes were printed with Gordon/Towers signatures &
249,568,000 banknotes were printed with Coyne/Towers signature combinations.

Looks like a nice note but I would take it out of that display & put it in a proper mylar sleeve to protect it (IMO)
