Lookimng at the two top, and bottom left, they are all even on top. The bottom right IS HIGH, compared to the other three. PL is "Proof Like". I domn't trust my eyes to judge, ant more. I use a straight edge, and check. On my '77 the inside "7" is a small amount lower than the adjacant numbers.. The glare on your bottom-right coin, is harshm, but still allows the date to be seen, and the high "7" does stand out. Dick

daviscfad, to answer your question, It is the ONLY '77 I have. I have a set of PL nickels that run from 1965-2008. Only the one '77. There may be one missing, here or there, but not many. More than likelly, "keys", if anything. I haven't gone into the nuckels very much, as yet. Later on, maybe. Dick

Based on your pic, I think the upper right is definitely a L7, and perhaps the lower left too--I would need to see a different view to be sure.

Can anybody show me a picture of the "even 7" variety? I don't believe it exists. I *do* see a minor difference in beads/denticles on the "high 7"s.

daviscfad, Thanks for the comment on the photos. I use camera that I bought on AOL Shop ONLINE, about three years ago. It had USB, Series cable, Video out and has a LED for viewing. I looks into the eyepiece of my small scope. Two settings, (20X/40X), . The program I use with it is "MR PHOTO 1.5. It has a large number of albums, and uses several differenf cameras, and scanners. I use the 300X300 size setting. It is perfect for posting on forums. The storage is Photobucket. Free, and easy to use. Now the bad news. I just got up from a nice nap, and saw your photos, again. I think all are high 7. Don't feel bad, if it doesn't jibe with my first answer. I don't see the same thing twice in a row anymore, thanks to my Macular Deterioration. Translated: I am legally blind, (now they can't blame me for anything, because I didn't see it, them, or how many)! Dick

Daviscfad, I think we need larger pics of each date for an definitive, non-controversial call. This should be an easy one to spot. For now, I'll confidently say the upper right is a L7, for what that's worth, lol. Dick, ok if we disagree?

I think you called that one right too--the second 7 is noticeably lower.
