Here is my last buy it's the 1948 Sterling Silver Dollar Copy,my next step is to get the original coin witch should come shortly.

Hey Kurt

Yes even if it's a copy it's still a nice collectable coin,and the original one is even better I have my eyes on one at the coin shop,i have that coin set aside I make payement arrangement with the seller I should have it by the end of the year,one way to get rare coins when you don't have the monney to buy it now.

This raises the question.... how accurately can a "real" 1948 dollar be replicated? Or any rare coin for that matter. And would I be able to tell the difference?

Just a thought.

I think this coin illustrates nicely how difficult it is to replicate those minute details collectors are familiarized in regards to the portrait and Voyageur design.
After studying this copy, I have far more appreciation for the skill used in creating the original. While I'm sure people are trying, I think it will be extraordinarily difficult to match the appearance of the original.

Andre, I can totally understand getting a 1948 copy until the time's right to buy the real thing. This is cool! I don't have one either.
