Are the terms Harp and Guitar used to describe the same condition for the Canadian one cent Error Variety? I have only limited coins from Canada and have seen both terms used.

From what I can determine they are the same type of error (die Chipping) however the difference in what I can tell is the extent of the chipping.

I don't think it is chipping but die clashes.

Thanks for the feed back. I would think a clash or a struck through error, however still would to like to know if the name given is either Harp or Guitar.

The CaC site also has a nice forum that folks just don't seem to post on. The CaC site is the English language portion of the French site, which gets lots of discussion there, but next to nothing on the English side. It's unfortunate that the French discussion forums don't show up in English .. it's a separate site. Here is the English Cac site http://coinsandcanada.com/forum/

And here is the French

Guitar and harp are not the same.
Guitar strings continue all the way to the leaf, all harp strings do not.
Not a die clash.
Most attribute this error to overpolished die.

There's a very handy die clash feature on the CAC site.

Thanks for the feed back. Now I know I have both a 'Harp and "Guitar" and some new sites to find more information.
