hi all just wondering what this fault is called, I have it on ebay at the moment as a bitten edge, but now I think it may be a light weight, its a 1932 penny any thoughts. cheers

You can often tell this error by weakness in the rim opposing the "clip". Can you see anything like that?
As an example, here's a Canadian cent where you can just make out some rim weakness directly opposite the clip:

That's a bitten edge / clipped planchet.

Definately an edge bite/clip. The weakness in the rim opposing the clip is known as the "Blakesley" effect.

A circular clip occurs when the machine punching out the blanks hits a strip that didn't advance far enough, and punches into an area where the metal was removed for another blank. A ragged or straight clip happens at the end of a sheet.

The Blakesley effect is from rolling the rim. When the rollers hit the clip, the coin moves into the open area, and the opposite side metal flows into the extra space, creating a bulge.
