Obverse..IMP PHILIPPUS AVG...Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse..PAX AETERNA...Pax standing left, holding olive branch and short sceptre. RIC IV 231c; RSC 23 Born in 237AD to his father Philip I (The arab) and his mother Marcia Octacilia Severa...Became joint ruler with his father in 247AD.. In 249AD his father Philip I was killed in battle whilst fighting the next next to be Emperor Trajan Decius...He was then executed, apparently in the arms of his mother, in Rome by the Pretorian Guard at the ripe old age of 12....
