As far as I can tell, your pictorial hints still left us with myriad options, including: - the silver 3 cent, which has stars and a curvy bit on the C like photo 1 - the Shield nickel, which I was absolutely certain was correct, as it is such an obscure type (though ... as mentioned previously, my initial hunches are often wrong) - multiple types of cents and Half CentsNot to mention all the types where Canadian maple leafs look like six-pointed stars.
