Actually for everybody's education, the date is 1967 and it is on the rim of the coin... Numista has a photo of the date  Exactly like our recent dollar coins having the date on the rim, so dated, but not on the main surfaces of the coin... Edited by mrwhatisit

My coin was the 50 kopecks coin which has no date on the obverse, no date on the reverse, and NO DATE ON THE RIM On Numista and in Krause the date is listed as: ND (1967) Which means it is Not Dated but was issued in 1967. mrwhatisit, I like to use "around" with date questions. It covers minted, issued and non-dated.
Is the diameter of this coin less than 20mm?

It was getting late for me on my last post, meant to say 50 kopeks but my brain kept thinking the dated on the rim ruble. Then I am like, duh, the 50k is not dated  but the ruble was... I actually have the complete (1967) set as issued by the USSR... Indeed, a very big technicality that threw us all off... I also never guessed since all the clues together did not seem to match anything for me to make a good guess... Does this coin contain any precious metal? (Silver on up) |
