I don't see any coins that fit the answers before 2002. Assuming the coin is listed on Numista.

The only coins I see in play with maple leaf are...
2003, 1 x $300 (gold) 2005, 2 x $8 (bi-metallic) 2009, 4 x $15 (playing cards), 3 x $25 (Olympics), 1 x $300 (gold)

Quote: The only coins I see in play with maple leaf are... Lots more trig. 3 from 2005 40th Anniversary of the Canadian Flag dollars. 2 from 2006 Medal of bravery dollars. Also, this might be a stickler, the mint mark that shows up in 2006 can be in play. And don't forget the 1 oz. bullion Maple Leafs.

I'm not seeing the 2005 coins on my list. 2006 is out as it's an even date.

Deleted my question. Back to the drawing board.
Loonie your question was probably ok to ask, now that I look at the correct list.
