The Luchos are the two tablets handed to Moses on Har Sinai, which had the Ten Commandments written on them. Then, the Torah was written, and that is what is now called the bible.

they were Sapphire and the rounded rims are attributed to Western artists.

just those specific ones handed to Moses

Just the ones that were handed to Moses. It's always "the luchos"

Just asking because we had this discussion that on the Belgian coins, it is the Belgian constitution written on the tablets, not the Ten Commandments.

I am sorry, but I gave you a SLIGHT hint, that lead to tablets. That was helpful. Also, I wasn't trying to lose or anything. ;)

1. Based on the CCF definition of "ancient and medieval" (i.e. pre-1600 AD), this is not an ancient coin.

So, here is your "SLIGHT hint":

Quote:
My new hint, because I decided not to give you a tiny picture: Luchos.

Maybe I'm just thick, but since Luchos refers to the tablets purportedly given to Moses and ONLY to those specific tablets, this "hint' was a red herring.

Duly noted.

Was the coin issued by a nation/state in the Eastern Hemisphere from a continental viewpoint (i.e. not the Americas)?

@James, I think it was "sporting" to give a couple of good clues. The one about languages (French) wound up being clear and very helpful. The one on Luchos was a bit ambiguous, but still wound up helping. I think that every time we give a clue, there is a possibility that the clue will be mis-interpreted. SO I give the gamemaster the benefit of the doubt on that, since I have also given clues and had guessers go in directions I had not expected.

Less sporting was the teaser on Spanish speaking countries which I fell for.
But maybe that's on me.
