Sidenote: does anyone know if it's possible to own a pattern of Edward VIII? Or are there just the two existing?

According to my copy of "A guide book of English coins" (8th edition) by Ken Bresset, some specimen examples of a new 3 pence type got into circulation. "They are all extremely rare."

This penny pattern sold for 130,000 pounds in 1978, which was the last time one went up for auction.

Have you ever delved into the story of Edward VIII? It's pretty interesting as far as Royal Family stuff goes.

Where's Keith?

Not really, though from what I can tell, they were pretty upset with his choices.

Is the country that issued this coin one that has German as an official language (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland)?

Ok good to know. Does the country that issued this coin have a name (in English) that ends with the letter A?

Hmm, what is left fellow players? Italy, Monaco, Czech republic, Montenegro, Hungary, Poland, Belarus, Vatican City, San Marino, and the Nordic Countries? Maybe there are more?

@keith12, is this coin from one of the Nordic Countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden)?

I'm going with your list Spence, we need to get the country.

Is the coin from 1 of the 1st 5 countries in the quoted list?
