Hi guys. Hope your all well. So far the bug has not hit me, but it's effects have. My new job lasted Mon. and Tues. Then I was asked to not come in until this passes. My job will be waiting, but it still bummed me out. Looks like we will have all that time on our hands like you said keith. I'm in for a twist or something to the game. Right now, the new coin used, should have a medical theme. You got any like that keith? Looks like your up next. What do you think of this? Gamemaster has to be a new player? Challenge the Champs? If we took out that you had to win to be Gamemaster, then I bet it might take off again. So once the coin is guessed, we wait for the next Gamemaster who wants to get beat by the champs. Anyone, any coin, can take a turn, then bail if they want, or become a Champ and join the "old school"guessers. Lets define a "Champ". Seems 50 posts is the benchmark on the site. Lets go with, "A Champ is anyone with 50 or more posts on the 20 Questions thread." and "All Champ Challengers, win or lose, have the option to become a Champ." I'm open for editing. Just brain storming with ya's. Stay safe. .

So are you saying first person to post a coin, after the round is over is the Gamemaster? Ps. I don't think I have anything Medical themed, But I can come close

As spruett pointed out before I chased him off, it's not much of a game if one looks up the answer as soon as one is stuck. There are thousands of people on here all with different knowledge. The game might stall once in a while but I think you would get more participation. We might even lose without someone throwing away half the questions. People like to guess but it seems, to me at least, being gm can be a bit arduous.

Im not sure what you mean by "loonie questions", but looking up events that happened on a certain date rather than just asking about the date seems like an unnecessary complication. Though the difficulty of being gm come from having to respond to people rather than the more casual pace of playing and the tendency we have to heckle them. New people even get heckled for asking questions people don't feel are good, which also shouldn't be done. I stand by my main point though: references ruin the game.

I think people only get "Heckled" when they ask a question that the answer is already known. So I think a running Recap is a good thing. And it's not that hard to do. Keeping track of whats going on is difficult sometimes. That's why I keep a running recap. Makes it easier for me to keep track

My sister quit her job last week. Of course she had a new job lined up. New job was put on hold. Old job closed all locations, but kept everyone on payroll. Bad timing on her part.

I believe several factors affect this game.
One factor is the obtuse questions that force the GM to do research. Now, that's something I love to do, but I'm sure it turns more people off than on.
Another factor is the feeling that all you have to do is go to Numista and do a search.
Maybe if we limit the types of questions allowed. For instance, you can't ask if a coin was minted before a certain date. Or, maybe somehow limit geography questions. Or, questions such as "Does the issuing country have more than 8 letters in its name?".

Would you have to cross an ocean or sea to get to the country of issue?
