I'll add Newfoundland, Cuba, Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos to your list Ed.

Was this coin around when the Woodstock Festival took place?

Your right, it is part of Canada now, but they only joined in the 40's. They had their own coins before then. Nice ones too. Livin' and learnin'. .

Let me add Greenland to the Americas list. It is physically part of the North American tectonic plate, though politically European. Also, the French Overseas Territory of St. Pierre et Miquelon, off the southeast coast of Newfoundland, had its own coinage and currency in the time period we are hunting.

I only am aware of 1 and 2 Franc coins from 1948, in case the host is getting exotic (see photo). The odd thing about note from St.P & M (see photo) is that is depicts an African village! France must have been too cheap to send a photographer there.

Thanks for the fun!

Stay well,
Diy89Nurm7

We have already had a mystery coin from St. Pierre et Miquelon (courtesy of yours truly).

That's not to say the rules prevent repeats, but how mundane!
