The following quote concerning circulated coins was found on this Cayman Islands Monetary Authority site. The information is probably dated since it references 2008 as the most recent issues.

Quote:
The first circulating coins were issued in 1972. Up until 1977 the coins were minted by the British Royal Mint. Circulating coins dated between 1977 and 1984 were minted by the Franklin Mint, U.S.A. Coins dated from 1986 to the most recent, dated 2008, have been minted at the British Royal Mint. Circulating coins dated between 1977 and 1984 were minted by the Franklin Mint, U.S.A.

It appears that we can exclude 1977-1984 for circulating coins, though does not necessarily apply to non-circulating.

CHoosing a date was looking a lot tougher before that info. I have some coins from Caribbean island nations that were Franklin Mint issues, so I was aware of that possibility, but was having a devil of a time finding info on which issues came from which mint.

Thanks for the hint Loonielewey.

So we are down to Cayman Islands 5 cent from 1987 - 2013.

Current possibilities here on Numista.

Joe gets a bonus question for ID'ing the crustacean correctly. I bet they are delicious. Now go throw another shrimp on the BarBee. .

Jadey, nice list you have there. Wouldn't you know it, the coin is on it.
