As best I can tell, Sri Lanka is out, but Taiwan and Nepal both issued silver coins between 1960 and 1989.

You guys are very kind, but it really was teamwork again.
Before I even got into the game, other players had it narrowed down to Asia, medium-sized countries and 1960-90 in with just a few questions. @keith's questions about SE Asia and Koreas were huge, and got us narrowed down to to just 3 remaining countries (and ruled out Philippines which was my first hunch). Then it was just slogging thorough Numista to see which of those countries made a circulating silver coin. And I spent more time than I should have (just ask my wife).
And a lot of world coin collectors who are old enough (like @joecoin and me) collected the FAO issues as they came out, or shortly after. I did, though I never had the Nepal coin.
OK, I have the coin for the next round

I'd like to address my issue with the question about UN membership before we proceed. My problem was that Nepal was admitted to the UN on the same day as 15 other members. https://www.un.org/en/sections/memb...t/index.htmlThese countries, along with Nepal, were the 61st through 76th members. The coin was 19 68. So, I really couldn't answer the yes/no UN question without more detailed info, which I could not find. My apologies if I have failed in my mission. On a non-related note, numista has that coin listed as a circulating commemorative coin, but all the other FAO coins from Nepal are listed as NCLT. That question was the killer. Edited by joecoin

I think it was "no harm, no foul" on that question. I couldn't figure out the mapping of country to rank for that batch either.
I will be out of pocket till mid-afternoon.

The UN stuff is dicey, as you pointed out. Good job all around. Coach will have a good one for us.
Is the coin from the Southern Hemisphere? I ask this most times to cut the world in half. Europe used to be the 1st ?, but we're growing.
