Liberty is not in the name of this coin type

OK. So that narrows it down to Barber and mercury coins during odd years. That narrows it down to Mercury dimes and Barber dimes, quarters and halves. Is it a Mercury coin? 8 questions remaining after this one. |

Theres an easier way to get where we are trying to go

Dear James Hicks,
It's very important to keep an open mind when attempting to determine the coin in question.
Did you know, the US mint issued a number of commemorative coins between 1899 and 1930, quite a few of which were struck in silver during odd years?

Can I please retract my Mercury question, and replace it with Keith12's question? Also, Joecooin, I did know that, however, it is unlikely, especially because a lot of the commemorative coins were minted at the S mint facility.

Yes, it was minted before 1917.
Summary
1. Not from the Southern Hemisphere
2. From the Americas
3. Not before 1900
4. Before 1960
5. Issued by the same country in which it was minted
6. Denomination 50 cents or less.
7. Minted before 1930
8. Silver
9. Minted at either Philadelphia or Denver
10. Liberty is not in the name of the type
11. Not minted in an even year
12. Minted before 1917

What do you guys think? Should I ask if it was a dime? If it is, it narrows it down to dimes, and excludes commemorative. Or, I could ask if it is commereative, and if it is, that excludes dimes. Neither of these questions are being asked to the gamemaster yet, just to Joecoin and Loonielew.

OK! So we have narrowed it down to the odd numbered years of Barber coins. Now we have to find the mint mark, and the denomination. I will do some research and find a way to answer both of those, thanks to mintage numbers. Does anyone know a good source for mintage number, by coin per year? That should narrow it down enough (within 2 questions) to start finding the year, which will also be narrowed down. |

Is the number of the year divisible by 3? Also, is it a quarter? THESE QUESTIONS ARE NOT YET BEING ASKED! Once Loonie agrees, I will ask them, but do not count them yet.
