It looks as if this is a Maltese one pound to 5 pounds coin from 1972 to 1977, with at least 92.5% silver. Now to think if Rome minted these  |

I was using the Krause coin catalog (the actual big book  ) for maltese coins, no scudi coins mentioned, so naturally I went to the pound coins... Didn't say I was right, just musing... Edit, in the unusual world coins book (also from Krause) I have, there they are  Don't worry, Ill still continue to use them; too valuable a resource to give up In the year range 1950 to 1979, is this a one scudi denomination that has an odd date? Well I got confused.  I forgot that triggersmob is the GM. The coin still might be from the Vatican which is inside of Rome. |

I really hope the answer to mrwhatisit's question is yes.
The problem with asking a compound date/denomination question is if the answer is no the coin could still be an even dated 1 Scudo or a 9 tari from any year. (17 options)
