Here is a 2006P Jefferson nickel and a 2008P Andrew Jackson Dollar

Is the rim damage on the Jefferson from the mint or post-mint?

The Jackson dollar was pulled from a $25.00 Jackson Bank-Roll from my local bank and the Jefferson was just in a normal 5 cent bank roll

The damage appears to be some what similar.

Looks like someone was clumsy and dropped those coins. Of course that's just my opinion.

I concur - similar post-mint damage on both coins caused by something striking the coin's rim, flattening it a bit and pushing the metal into the field causing that bulge.
