Just a reminder , they would have to be SP-68 or higher to be worth sending it in.

Cost to grade - depends on the TPG and the time factor, among other variables. Let's start with pics.

Well, let's see some photos! :)
How do you know it is SMS? What kind of packaging is it in?
I'd say yeah, they have some value. I wouldn't spend them if I had them. I'd probably put them in a 2x2 if they weren't already in some kind of packaging.

I wouldn't bother sending in to have slabbed and graded. Cost more than they are worth.

I love the SMS coins, especially the nickels. They have that super liquid metal look to them. I wouldn't send them in for grading. It's cheaper just to buy them already slabbed, and you can cherrypick for quality as you search.

and Since you are new at this heed the advice given. Unless absolutely certain it's a 69/70, most modern coins (with exception to a variety, error or exceptionally low mintage) grading fees will exceed the actual value. Around $60, not counting the coins cost.

Special Mint Set.
These were issued 1965, 1966, 1967. No regular mint or proof sets those years. SMS coins are supposed to be better than uncirculated, but not quite nice as proof (although early die states can have the cameo affect).
