The Swedish daler is a so-called "Von Goertz daler", named after the Holstein minister of the Swedish king Charles XII. This baron issued these coins as a kind of emergency coinage, which had to be redeemable in silver when enough silver would become available. A whole series of 12 different coins had been issued.
As too many of these coins were issued they couldn't be redeemed. This made him the most hated person in Sweden and after the sudden death of Charles XII, he was taken to court and sentenced to death. He was decapitated almost immediately after.

That's the 'historical significance' I meant, thanks for posting it for everyone!
Rest in Peace

G'day & Happy Birthday,
the story about Von GOERTZ is very interesting: here's wven more detail, for those interested -

One of the reasons that I collect coins is that a humble copper artefact like your Daler is a tangible link to events 300 years ago.
That said, vG sounds like a chancer who gambled big, and who lost big.

Your 1889 QV silver: I think it's a half-crown. I believe that Crowns of that era were 38mm, with St George killing a dragon.

1919 BWA: look on the Crown side, below the hole. Mintmark = H. Looks Unc.

1916 D.O.A.: show it off next time "African Queen" is on TV.

You bought well: what a great set of gifts.
