Hello. Just joined. I was given 10 of these coins by my father in law on New Years day 2000, or thereabouts. I came across them in an old beer stein that belonged to my great grandfather the other day and decided to google them to see if they were worth anything. I came across the wounded eagle coins and grabbed my reading glasses to see if I was about to be rich, lol, but they are so tarnished from just sitting in a ceramic mug for almost 20 yrs, I wouldn't be able to tell without cleaning them. So my questions are, if I clean them, what should I use and, if one wanted to have a coins' value determined, who do you trust? Thanks

Sac1 to CCF!! DO NOT clean your coins. Can you please post pictures of your coins? Obverse and Reverse... 1 coin per post that way there is less confusion Thanks

To CCF! As levelsofmadnes said DO NOT clean your coins. That will lower the value of the coin and make it almost worthless, if it's valuable.
Errers and Varietys.

Also, if you handle your coins without gloves, hold them by the edges only and try not to touch the obverse or reverse with your fingers

My forward facing camera has a crack and blurs close up pics so I will take some when my daughter gets home. Should I take pics of the backs of all 10?

Hello Sac1, Yes, the area of concern is the underside of the eagle. There will be two straight lines. So, if you can please post a picture of the obverse (front side) and reverse (back side) of the coin. Here is a picture for PCGS.com website: Here is CherryPickers' Guide Fifth Edition Volume II page 397:

I know. But most of them you can't see because of tarnish.

Hello Sac1, Well, it is ok... just take a good picture of the obverse and reverse of each coin and post it. Thanks and looking forward to your pictures. FYI..some collectors like coins that are tarnished or toned. EDIT: This is the first post and gives tips on posting: POSTING ERROR COINS http://goccf.com/t/5450

Tarnish/discoloration would not make it so you can't see the die gouge through the eagle. Severe corrosion would, but if the coin was severely corroded in that area it's not going to have any significant value anyway.
