I want to share the pictures because I think they are nice. the draw must have been treated with a type of primer. AT but, so nice. Toned in 1 month I fliped them after 2 to 3 weeks. I was amazed, and so will you. they started out with pastel colors and, finished blue and puple. Image: E11.jpg28.31 KB Image: f3.jpg35.06 KB Image: 95140227907_0_BG.jpg70.42 KB Image: q12.jpg9.53 KB

Most interesting, but as an "old time collector" these puppies look highly suspicious as "created toning" and not at all natural toning. I guess to each collector their own, some things attract and for others it repels. These coins do not attract me in any way whatsoever and IMHO have lost value. I don't know how u managed to damage these guys and I really don't wanna know the "how to" either. However, they look highly suspicious and manipulated somehow. Whata waste of silver--- Need some coin dip WTH, at this point it can't hurt, I bet no TGP would encapsulate any of these guys because they have been "tampered with"-- Oh, don't mind me to much and yes welcome to our Forum..

I'm not a toning fan, but those are just plain pretty. Good stuff.

Nice- very attractive IMO, and a good coin to play around with if you are intentially trying to tone them. Better protect the blue ones now though, because the next stage is black! :O

Some look attractive to my eye, however toned coins are a taste I haven't aquired yet.

AT. Is short for accelerated toning. Like Mike said the draw must have been toxic. Normaly a coin would take years to tone like this with out the presence of some type of man made chemicals.

Sorry Lim118, Might I suggest to U.S.M.C. presenting this Magic Draw(does that mean Drawer) at the next Coin Show for inspection. Unless it is too heavy to carry. **edited**
Rujam, we do not behave like this here. Coins can indeed tone in a month in proximity to certain things that the owner may not be aware of. To accuse someone like this with no information, especially when the original post said they were artificially toned, is NOT acceptable.

If this is indeed toning from your drawer you should consider never leaving another coin there! From a dealers perspective these coins are worth the melt value only. Don't take a chance and ruin any more coins. It's your call!

I have a friend that used to live right next door to a raw glass factory. He could put a silver coin on his window sill in the summer, two weeks per side, and they came out stunning from the fumes floating by. I think he moved shortly after this discovery, wondering what he was breathing every day.

To everyone who has posted on this thread, I am sorry for the comments To you U.S.M.C. , I am sorry this has happened to your Coins. Yes they are more colorful, but worth less. I will suggest to you to go on ebay and look up toned u.s. coins. You will see how flooded the market is with similar coins, and that Market is going nowhere. Might I suggest you go to a local shop, sell these coins you have, and purchase another American Eagle, and put it in a different Drawer.

How can you say they are worth less now just because of artificial toning That holds true for normal coins but ASEs dont really have any numismatic value unless they are slabbed. It is raw silver bullion- no more, no less. They are still worth over $10 on the spot market and most coin shops price them a couple of dollars above that. If someone wants to play around with AT (I assume USMC intentionally did the AT since he stated that he flipped them after a couple weeks) the ASEs are the best thing to use since they have no real numismatic value. Selling them for exorbitant prices and stating the tone is natural is an unethical thing to do, but I see nothing wrong with a little experimentation when in the end you still have 1 oz. of silver.

They are not real attractive to my eyes - toning is int he eye of the beholder and all that - but SAE's sure do tone at teh drop of a hat. That is for sure.
