As is the case with the 1936 York County, ME Tercentenary half dollar, the Pilgrim Tercentenary coins of 1920 and 1921 have two five-pointed stars on each side. And, as with the York, the stars are used merely as inscription separators, versus carrying any symbolic meaning. On the obverse, the stars are used on either side of "PILGRIM HALF DOLLAR" at roughly the vertical midpoint of the coin to separate it from "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" which encircles at the top. On the reverse, the stars flank the "1620 - 1920" dual dates of the anniversary, at the coin's bottom, and separate it from "PILGRIM TERCENTENARY CELEBRATION." 1920 Pilgrim Tercentenary Half Dollar I've posted about the Pilgrim Tercentenary coins multiple times, you can read the posts here: - 1920 Pilgrim Tercentenary- 1921 Pilgrim Tercentenary- 1920 & 1921 Pilgrim Tercentenary - Redux- 1920 Pilgrim Tercentenary Newspaper AdsFor more of my posts about commemorative coins and medals, see: Read More: Commems Collection.

The 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial commemorative half dollar makes minor use of stars on its obverse. The two five-pointed stars are used to separate "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" from "PATRIOT HALF DOLLAR" at the coin's rim. The two inscriptions encircle the central design of Daniel Chester Beach's The Minute Man aka Concord Minuteman statue. The stars are located just below the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions on the coin. 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Half Dollar You can read my previous posts about the coin and its original packaging here: 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial and here 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial Ephemera. I've presented a full-color image of the statue here: 1925 Lexington-Concord Sesquicentennial - Coins with Hats Thread.
