@rum, all the hairlines on the coin and unnatural luster and patina. As for PCGS they have no excuse.

I don't think you can generalize from 1 photo (of a different date) what PCGS thinks an AU-53 coin looks like.

that is the PCGS photograe plate coin for the au53 grade. why does it matter if it's a different date? do grades differ by date for the same coin design and series?
