Sorry for all the questions, still learning here!
Coinsandcanada.com states there was uncirculated AND proof like versions of the 1999P small cent.
I can only find numismatic BU (proof like) versions. Was there a circulation version?

It was only issued as a test token, TT-1.12A, struck in Ottawa issued as part of the 1999-P multi-ply plated steel coinage test token set. Almost every third party grading company grades them as an uncirculated business strike.... (not that I agree with them).

Thanks for your reply SPP-Ottawa. Just to clarify, all the 1999P's that are typically on ebay are the "proof like" version that came from cellophane sets. There is a BU "business strike" version that is the TT-1.12A

you are talking about the same coin, the 1999P sets, are all that was produced, many coins have been cut out of the sets, and some are sold still sealed, but they are all the same strikes, and from the same 20,000 sets that were initially produced.. There isn't 2 different issues of the cent for this year.

Ahh okay thanks for the clarification, I guess coinsandcanada.com has that one wrong! So only ONE strike which was from the sets

This one is mine... they are hard to find in nicer grades... (that is, well struck and clean with a nice square rim). You often cannot get a good look at them, unless you cut open the set. It was not cheap, cutting open many sets to get this one (and it is really nothing super special)... https://www.PCGS.com/cert/37390468
