Was wondering what anyone thought of this 1939"P" Nickel I recently came to own. Do you think this would classify as the DDR? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what part you are referring, the letters or bottom of the building?

To CCF! The devices are reduced in size, so it's Machine Doubling.

This link has all the DDR listings for the 39 p if you want to look at them.

If you look at both the "M" and "o" in Monticello your pictures, the part that is doubled looks like it has been pushed down from the edge of the original m & o making both smaller. A double die the devices is in addition to the original device and makes it bigger.
