Hi there. I'm new to the site. I have come across 2 coins I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on where they're from?
I'm assuming Japanese from the writing on them. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about the rectangular one but I think the round one is Chinese.
The Japanese coins I'm familiar with all have a Chrysanthemum on them.

Thank you. I've tried to translate the symbols but no luck. I'm hoping to find out some more. The rectangular coin is quite weighty

Neither are Japanese.

Top one is a fake of a rare 19th century Annamese (Vietnamese) silver Lang. For a genuine one (notice how "scratchy" the calligraphy is on yours)

The round one is also a replica of a rare early Vietnamese silver coin, of Annamese emperor Tu Duc. Example on zeno.ru.

Thank you. Disappointed they're replicas! On the round coin, what gives it away as a replica?
