A silver Sasasian (or Sassanian) coin; the first two images are of the reverse; I'm not sure what the proper alignment is but think it's one of those two ways. The reverse is *possibly* "Fire altar with attendants" but I cannot tell.

The obverse is proper alignment.

Size is just between 32.5 and 33 mm -- maybe 32.7 or 32.8.

Any sort of help would be more than welcome: period, history, value, links, etc. And thank you in advance.

The first photo of the reverse has the correct orientation.

Here's a great site for identifying Sasanian coins:

http://beastcoins.com/Sasanian/Sasanian.htm

The crown and general design of the coin appear to match Khusro II (591-628 AD).

If you check out that site, with coin in hand, you may be able to confirm the ruler and possibly read the regnal year and mint.

It is Khurso II, I can't make out the mint mark or date but from the style of the bust I'd say it is and early date.
