I found a 1990 no mint mark and compared it to the rims of a 1969-S and they look the same. Is it a good coin to compare to? 1969-S on left and 1990 on right.

Can you please post pictures of the obverse and reverse side? The two coins look like Business Strikes to me.

Handling of coins...

RECOMMENDATION: Hold the coin by the edges and not the FACES of the coin.

I have had quite a few cents that look like proof planchettes but they were not. The cent you are talking about was probably rolled from thick stock. No premiums for those unfortunately.

Ok, so I barely know about proof coins. Proof coins were minted from San Francisco right?
Btw, here is the other picture:

FYI: When comparing coins, you need to comparing the same date, mint mark and condition. Your coin is not a proof missing the mint mark...sorry.

You'll KNOW if you have a proof coin or not. I've found 2005 S in circulation and it looks and feels so much better than a regular strike. Nice details and super shiny.
