1985-D Roosevelt Dime Adjustment Strike Or Grease Strike

Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 08/24/2019 01:03 am I bought this coin as a Grease Filled Die, but once I had the coin in hand, I questioned this. While I've had lots of Grease Filled Die strikes, I haven't had any coins that fit the Die Adjustment Strike description as well as this coin does. The rims are weak or missing on most of the coin, details are missing on both sides and the reeding is weak. I can also see the characteristic look of the Upset Rims from a Type II Planchet on the finished coin. Do you agree or disagree? I would like to hear your thoughts on this coin. Grease Filled or Low Pressure strike? Am I missing any obvious markers that should tell me grease or adjustment strike? Thanks for reading this post! I'll be reading more about this over the weekend. As for the weight, it's 2.5 grams, so the planchet wasn't the cause. Thanks again for the info E&V!
