jbohanon New Member United States 39 Posts	Posted 08/25/2019 09:05 am I just picked up the Washington quarters 1932-1990 album from Whitman (the one with the sliding plastic on both sides). I noticed as I put in several of the coins that they slide loose beneath the plastic (to the point of "hitting" the rims of other coins that don't slide). Has anyone else run into this? And is there anything I can do to stop it from doing this that will keep the functionality of the slides? Report this Post to the Staff

You might have a defective album and should be returned for another one . But if your Quarters are so worn, it's possible to be loose in the holes , however I have never heard of that happening . jbohanon New Member United States 39 Posts	Posted 08/25/2019 10:22 am I don't know what I could be doing wrong. I think when I try to insert, it requires so much force that it touches the rear slide. I've tried to put it in the dead center of the holders and for the life of me can't get it to work for all the quarters in a bay at once. This seems to be happening in multiple bays. I bought it on ebay, so I'm not optimistic about getting a refund. Report this Post to the Staff

I have about 50 or more of them and what you are experiencing is common with them. The cover sheet over the slotted page does not have enough glue in between the slots. I also have Dansco and several other brands and only Whitman Classic Albums are like that. Not all, but many. Not much you can do about it unless you wanted to try taking apart the entire page and properly regluing it all over again. One of the problems we get when stuff is made in China. That is where all Whitman Albums and Folders are made today. A long time ago they were made in the USA and products were made much better back then. Sorry but probably not worth the money to try returning if bought on ebay. Next time if you want a good or decent Whitman Album, try a coin or hobby store. Report this Post to the Staff
