you have a 1954 devil's face bill. mintage was 100,000,000 , a bill in AU condition trends for 60$, I think your bill is EF, and it trends for 35$.

The owner of this note has the condition classified as "AU" and "Uncirculated."
I would love more opinions. I can't figure out how to reply to a single post, can anyone tell this dumb person how the forums work? Haha, I'm a newby.

So silverwolf, you and DBM both feel this note's value is about $35, is that right? Looks like I'm lucky to have some willing to lend their wisdom, as he/she (owner of said note) wants over triple that...

It's very hard to tell from pictures. It's best to examine it in hand. How reputable is the seller? You may want to pick up a Charlton paper money book to help you know what to look for in terms of grading, prefixs and price ranges.

Quote: Just wanting an assessment of the note's value. first off - welcome to CCF & hope you peruse the site enough to start feeling more comfortable about collecting banknotes. 2nd - "John1" and "fiotl" have provided you with excellent sources (links) to get a ballpark figure on the note in question. I hope you check them out. 3rd: "Cdncoins" & others, rightly pointed out that its next to impossible to determine a note's exact condition merely from scans. You're pretty much on your own when it comes to making a judgement call (whether to buy or not to buy) and that's pretty much the "bottom line." Most veteran collectors hope that "newbies" will try to be patient in that regard. Lastly- I'd like to point out: that when a seller lists as a banknote as"UNC or AU" than you can pretty much be certain that there's probably a few issues (folds, etc) that drag the note down more in line with AU. If you're in doubt -then best bet is to pull away and look somewhere else. (Or shop exclusively TPG notes- that have been certified or graded so you'll feel more certain you're getting what you paid for). Another member mentioned that there's 100,000,000 of these notes printed so there's no shortage. In fact, I have been collecting CDN banknotes for more than 40 years and IMO- these Devil's Face are extremely popular series amongst world collectors (so their BV tends to be high- not because they're rare but just because they're popular). Take a pass as there'll be more to look at (& likely for less money).
