It's less than a dime in diameter and is silver. The back is rough but the obverse seems to be a figure of Christ. Can you id it? Thanks for any help!

Perhaps a Venetian Grosso. Reverse is upside-down - it shows two figures (the doge and St. Mark, most likely).

The name of the doge would be in legends around the rim of the second photo between 7:00 and 11:00 when oriented properly, and it appears much of this coin has been removed (diameter should be closer to 22 mm), so I don't think there is a chance for a more definitive ID, unless someone can match the image of Christ to a specific doge.
