1970-D Lincoln Memorial Cent, Mint Mark Error/Variety?

Zach Gula New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted 09/03/2019 8:10 pm Hello, I have two 1970D Lincoln cents, however one mint Mark appears to be slightly lower than the other, I checked NGC and I don't think it is a variety. If someone can explain this to me that would be much appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 09/04/2019 05:04 am to CCF fellow Michigander. Mint mark placement varies, because until 1990 the mint mark was placed by hand on each working die. Yours is within mint tolerance,so not an error or variety. John1 Report this Post to the Staff
