the reverse of this 1985 shows a subtle spread, especially in the EPU (elongated dots), UNITED, and ONE what do you guys think?

That's not a Doubled Die, just a common Over Polished die issue, from getting rid of Die Clashes, and to get more life out of the die. http://www.error-ref.com/thinning-a...gn-elements/
