Hello ladies and gentlemen I was wonder if you can help me find out what the deal is with this 1918 d penny it seems to be steel to me I got some pictures and any comments or information would help me out greatly thank you

I agree. Don't play with it because some were plated with a poisonous mercury oxide.

Does it attract to a magnet? I don't think it is steel or plated.Just a bit odd toning.

Plated in it's early years and heavily circulated .Plating wearing off .
