I have what looks to be a Morgan silver dollar, however, the front is gold and back is silver/gold. Cannot find a match online to see what the value is. Clearly I am not a coin collector and seek the expertise of those who are. :) Thanks in advance!

Looks like it's been partially gold-plated.
Rest in Peace

It is a promotional gold plated coin on an original Morgan dollar. The plating destroyed all numismatic value but it s still worth silver value, which is $13.92.

Yep, it was plated to make it an attractive coin visually - which it certainly is. But, as far as true collectors go, it was ruined.

Personally, I think it is beautiful.

Some people like plated coins. Not me, but some people. They are currently selling between 20 and 40 dollars.

Thanks to all of you! I really like the gold/silver tones of the coin. I gave it to my daughter from the tooth fairy after losing her first tooth so I thought I should know more about it. :) Also gave her a $2 bill, for fun.

looks to be in pretty decent shape, you might want to put it in a coin holder for her..
