Hello all, I have a 1993 penny d mint which has a weird coating or maybe an unfinished polishing with a weird error around Lincolns ear and other errors which I need help identifying. I have done quite a bit of research but do not have enough experience to correctly identify what the errors are. Also it is always zinc bubbles as shown in between the letter L and I or is there a possibility of something else. I am a rookie and really tried to do as much research as I could on my own before coming to you guys -- the experts

This looks like plating bubbles. Use the point of a toothpick and see if you can depress the copper in the area of the bubble.

Tried that and even left in vinegar for a day. The second area half of the penny is not bubbles but a very weird kind of film or a penny that wasn't polished completely. THe picture does no justice as the penny is very shiny and Lincoln's effigy stands out with a different shine. If you look at the area surrounding the ear it is weird too. I cant figure it out aside from it being broadstruck

Using vinegar is never a good idea.

I cant tell but it is on only the one side and it is only around the effigy not even a dab on on the effigy itself so that rules out any outside alerations. I mean I not thinking that this one of a kind error, I am asking for purposes of education.

I know but that was the only way aside from poking at to see if it was just a zinc bubble.

The coating was before the I put it in the vinegar. It is really weird as where the coating is not. It sipreety much flawless and the effigy shines much brighter than the rest of the coin.
