From 1961 to 67 I believe they where called Proof Like.
1968 and up they where uncirculated sets or BU. These came in a envelope with the cell pack inside.

MY ? is where these also called Proof Like?

You can call these sets, up to 2010, PL sets if you wish.
The Mint never ever referred to these sets as prooflike, it is a term coined by collectors in the early '50s to describe the sets specially struck for collectors which the Mint called "uncirculated sets" or "brilliant uncirculated sets".
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
