I have not sent one recently, but as far as I know, it is very rare for a modern coin to be worth thousands (with the exception of a few varieties of wheat pennies)

I sent a beautiful 1994 D nickel to PCGS and it got MS67. PCGS price guide value is $1750.

Your question is simply too.broad. I've received UC70 from NGC that were worth $100. I've also received AU-58 from them for a coin worth (and sold for) $6000.

If you are asking if I get better grades than expected, yes. But only 15% of the time. I also overgrade by 10% too.

So if your good at grading you will be right more often than wrong.

1994 D Jefferson in 66 FS is only worth $25. Which gives you an idea how rare that 67 is.

My most recent example is 1952-D FS-501 Washington quarter. Tied for finest at MS65 it has a future ahead. After talking with a few dealers in our network at work, I plan to cross it to PCGS then get it CAC stickered. All of the MS65's tied are pretty baggy and some of them should be 64's. Regardless there are only 10 other at the MS65 level and 7 have been rejected by CAC with none passing. But, mine is very solid for a 65 and I expect it to pass. I originally paid $25. After getting it crossed and stickered, estimated auction hammer price is ~$2000.

Issued for circulation coins are the tough ones in very high grades, with zero population at MS70 for most issues.
The PCGS Photograde site attests to this.

Modern NCLT collector only coins in MS70 are almost common in comparison.

With other than modern machine made coins, absolutely pristine examples never happen.
'As Struck' is the best you can ever hope for and MS gradings for unworn coins is pretty much irrelevant. They have added descriptors instead.
