Can't really tell. It kind of does look like a steel cent and doesn't have the brownishness of a regular 1944 cent.

What do you guys think?

I'll betcha London to a brick on**
that it is electro copper plated.

Certainly appears to be so, from the picture.

Probably the result of a high school science lab experiment.

I see, yeah that would make sense. It certainly looks like it has a very toned color of copper, but it still has the shine of the steel.

Not a Copper 43 . Really doesn't look like it to me and the seller makes no mention of a copper 43 .
