Hi. I found this unusual looking penny. Check the Her Majesty's neck.. And underneath CANADA'S "C"

to CCF. Looks like zinc rot to me. We have the same problem here in the U.S. with copper plated cents.

The sides are understandable, could be from my mother's "piggy bank".. But the dot-like things are elevated.. My friend suggested a pawnshop, and I had it checked. Pawnshop Guy said I might be on to something but first, he wants it professionally graded.

I don't know what to do. Do you guys think it's worth it?

It's zinc rot.
Corrosion is happening beneath the copper plating of your coin and causing the bubbles.
We've seen it countless times before.
Absolutely no one here will agree with Pawnshop Guy.

"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
