I opened a roll of half dollars tonight and found this 1916 UK large cent. It seems to be in pretty good shape. I need recommendations on stopping the copper rot. What can I use that won't damage the coin?
You have obviously found out that they are very nearly the same diameter. The ONE PENNY has about 0.2mm larger diameter. The Half dollar is 3.1 grams heavier, (silver has greater density)
40% silvers (for their melt value), are considerably more valuable than the numismatic value of the British Penny you have, in the condition that it is in.
