I acquired this coin at a garage sale a few years ago. The obverse has a high relief profile of a man in a turban with writing around the outside of the coin I could not possibly hope to decipher. The reverse says Istanbul Fetih Cemiyeti. It this a Turkish coin and does anyone have a rough idea of the value? I plan to keep it in collection, but would still like to have some idea of the value. Any help is appreciated.

It's a medal not a coin.

Commemorating the Conquest of Istanbul.

The one's I see all have different numbers and I'm not sure why, but they seem to sell for 700ish.

To confirm solid gold or gold plated,
need to know thickness, diameter and weight.

Medals often have a choice of diameters, metals, finishes and weights, for sale at a range of price levels.

The weight is 16.2g. The diameter is 27mm. The thickness is approximately 1.5mm. Thank you for your help with this.

So, after 100 posts I am supposed to hold a contest? Hmmm...I have never done that. Is there any kind of guide for this?
