1972-S Proof Dime NGC PF67 "Star" Cam- Die Cracks

I bought this one some time ago. Never thought to look it over until now. I noticed two die cracks on LIBERTY that caught my eye. If this was a circulation strike, I wouldn't give it a second thought-I would toss it in with the rest of my change. However, proof coins are supposed to have no imperfections.

The dies used to strike the coins usually run 3-5K coins. Die deformities usually don't happen in short lives like that. Larger error coins like bigger strike throughs and whatnot would be very rare and worth a pretty penny.

Anyways, I thought it was interesting and that I would let CCF take a look. Thank you!

I imagine those two tiny die cracks kicked that die out of use.

Regardless, it is a lovely example, especially since the early 70's had some really light strikes and general problems, even in the proofs.

CAC is no longer accepting new people. You would have too put it through with someone with that connection.
