Does anyone have a good way to bring the date up on this Buffalo nickel. I think it says 1920 but I'm uncertain.

Since there is no mint mark it's not worth the effort to see the date.
Nic-A Date will do the job BUT that would devalue the coin even more.
Right now it's worth about face value.

From the pics in the OP, it sure looks like 1920 to me, though I guess it could be 1921.
I vaguely recall that there's also a ribbon-based method to identify 1920 (and 1921) - something about ribbon waviness, IIRC? - but I can't recall offhand what it is.

In any case, 1920-plain is one of the most common dates (63 million mintage), so would not be worth much one way or another.
Rest in Peace

It is a 1920. Not worth restoring.

That is a 1920 no question, no need to damage it trying to restore the full date.
Rest in Peace

To tell you the truth the Nickel your asking about already looks like it had a full acid bath . If so , you'll never get 4 complete digits from it . But it does look like a 1920 .

it's way too washed out with the lighting, but it does look very excessively cleaned considering the wear it's showing. There are many, many buffalos roaming around out there... try to find better ones with good readable dates. Happy hunting!

It's definitely 1920. I wouldn't restore it.

As so many have said, not worth the trouble to restore date.
