1848 Large Cent For Grading Vs. PCGS

paralyse Bedrock of the Community United States 12057 Posts	Posted 10/26/2019 8:27 pm Good evening CCF :) This 1848 Braided Hair large cent from a fellow EAC member/dealer is already in a PCGS holder. The variety is Newcomb N-26, quite scarce at R5 and one of the tougher varieties for 1848 behind the N-19 proof strikes. As a Late Dates collector this fits right in with some of my scarcer varieties. The most recent Late Dates CC (June 2019) has a single coin graded EAC 55 as the finest example reported, and only 19 total coins listed for the variety, but there are certainly quite a few more out there that are unattributed or owned by non-members.
