Deep toning only on the obverse, hard to capture it in a picture - it looks appealing to me in hand. And a diagonal band on the reverse, looks like it was taped (?)

How would you grade it?

MS-65. Eye Appeal 7/10.

A really superb example rarely found this nice.

There may? be some tiny nicks and hairline scratces hiding under the patina, but
I can't see any in the pictures.

If none, then MS65.

Thanks guys! On the obverse the patina is slightly flat around the sideburn, just left of the chin, so I was wondering if you see this as wear or just part of the patina. But this was a good find anyway, I snatched it from a silver crowns junk box in a flip.

Patina is slightly thinned on the obverse, but
the reverse in this case does not seem to show any of this.
Compare high points on both sides with a critical eye.

Some prefer coins with a nice patina, but with MS++ coins, I prefer silver in blast white, where the luster can be fully appreciated. Luster is undisturbed on high points with such coins.
That is never a problem with gold coins.

Thank you for the thoughts, sel_69l!

I sometimes find very high grade coins with thick tone/patina in bargain bins or significantly underpriced. I wonder if the dealer oversees them because of the dark tone or they consider them so undesirable that they knock the price down.

Personally I think in the right lighting toned coins look absolutely fabulous. But it's a matter of taste of course. Most likely they are a harder sell though

Toning tends to hide things in photos. I'll take a stab with MS-64.
