I commented in a post today that the Mint needs to change the design of the Cent to hide the defects and blemishes that are found on so many of these copper plated zinc core coins. I think a Moon obverse and a Pizza reverse would hide "Zinc Rot" and "Water Spots" quite nicely. What do you think? ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

The moon side looks really cool. But I just know we're going to start arguing over whether the pizza side should have pineapple or not.

Great idea, and you could call it "The Moon Pie Cent"!

Okay, I had to scan it, and I just love that the bar code reads "No Cash Value".

No cash value is about right on a penny anymore! I love the moon obverse.

Excellent design. This should hide those craters and volcano's very well.
And of course, the barcode is "spot" on!

The best way to eliminate zinc rot bubbles is to completely dissolve the coin in acid. The British do rather better with their modern decimal Penny. They use copper plated steel. They are far more durable. (I mean the coins !)

They are going to do even better, they seem to be planning on dropping it.
